2️⃣ Make the Chocolate Buttercream

  1. Beat butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix well.
  3. Pour in the melted chocolate and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

3️⃣ Assemble the Cake

  1. Place the first sponge layer on a cake board.
  2. Spread a thin layer of chocolate buttercream.
  3. Repeat with all layers, but leave the top layer plain for caramel.
  4. Cover the sides of the cake with more buttercream.

4️⃣ Make the Caramel Top

  1. In a saucepan, melt sugar, water, and lemon juice over medium heat until golden caramel forms.
  2. Quickly pour caramel over the top sponge layer and spread evenly.
  3. Before it hardens, lightly score into slices with an oiled knife.

5️⃣ Final Touches

  1. Arrange caramel slices on top of the cake in a fan pattern.
  2. Pipe buttercream along the edges for decoration.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
